INGREDIENTS
• Bel Gaufre maple waffles
• 9 lbs of peeled apples with the heart removed, chopped into pieces
• 1 bottle (750 ml) apple must
• 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
• 1 ½ lb (750 g) brown sugar
PREPARATION
In a large saucepan, cook the apples in half of the apple must over medium heat for 15 minutes or until apples are softened. Reduce to low heat and simmer for 3 to 4 hours or until the preparation has thickened, stirring often and gradually adding the rest of the apple must.
Add the cinnamon and mix. Stir in the brown sugar and continue cooking over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes or until the mixture has the consistency of butter. Allow to cool to room temperature. Pour the apple butter into glass jars or airtight containers (The butter will keep for up to 1 month in the refrigerator).
Warm our maple waffle in the oven at 350 ° F for 3 minutes. Place a spoon of your apple butter on the waffle, let it melt for a moment and serve.
