Waffles in apple rum sauce



INGREDIENTS

• Bel Gaufre vanilla waffles

• 1 peeled apple, chopped into pieces

• 1/4 cup brown sugar

• 1 tsp. lemon juice

• 1/4 tsp. cinnamon

• 1 tbsp. butter

• 2 tbsp. brown rum

• 4 tbsp. cream

• 1 tsp. of cornstarch

  Pinch of salt

PREPARATION

In a saucepan, simmer the apples with the lemon juice, brown sugar and cinnamon for 4 to 5 minutes. Remove the apples from the syrup and set aside. Add the butter, rum, cream and salt to the syrup and cook for two minutes. Thicken to desired consistency with a little cornstarch previously diluted in a small amount of water. Place the apples in the rum sauce. Heat the waffles in the toaster. Serve with apple and rum sauce.
